As the Stars Flew Down to the Dock

By Jessica Tay

As the stars flew down to dock,

the moon chief among them setting sail,

as dawn drew close and bruised the sky,

they danced the grass down with diamonds

riding the back of the ocean, making

beds in ponds and rivers, streams and seas.

They are found singing in dark places.
